Overview of work
Consulting with a wide variety of universities and professional bodies since 1987 to adapt and/or develop programmes to meet user needs. Most of the work involves not so much the content as ensuring that the systems (quality, finance, admissions, tracking, examinations, staffing) are appropriately designed, fully operational and fiscally sound. This necessarily includes considerable change management, awareness of cultural issues, end-user market awareness and application of detailed external regulatory codes. Occasionally, centuries of tradition have needed to be altered (Judge Institute, University of Cambridge). Occasionally, systems have needed to be developed from the ground up for new programmes (Wharton, University of Michigan Executive programs, Hotel and Catering competences, teadcher training, University of Reading, Nottingham Trent University, Excelsior College, Institute of Directors, Malaysia, etc). Quality assurance systems include: several national Ministries of Education, QAA (UK), AACSB, IACBE, US Regional authorities (inc ‘Middle States’).
